Chinese photograph turned painting

Perhaps my interest in photography has a lot to do with my interest in art.
When I photograph I do believe that I see a painting in front o me, often it is that way.
Here is a new small oil painting, 30x30cm on canvas. It was a photograph taken in the city of Hefei, a town not too far from Shanghai. The park was filled with beautiful sculptures, and many people were walking around, this little girl was being photographed by professionals, her hair, her clothing, being adjusted by a few people. I was lucky to see this lovely little girl, sitting and waiting to be photographed....also by me.

Painting and some thoughts behind the process

Paintings, the life of an artist. Paintings and colors all over the house, wherever there is space, even where there is no space. In every angle, paintings standing up, canvases, cardboard to cut on, to pack things. Paintings that were never finished, old paintings, and those that are new where inspiration is no longer. Paintings that have been admired but never sold, unfortunately, some never shown. Waiting, for the right moment, the right person, the right time that is ripe before the artist himself becomes too ripe. Even some of those old paintings one can hardly remember from where the inspiration came when they were painted, and you don't even know if they any longer exist. This one here, for example I can't remember if it was left as it is here or if I covered it up with colors, like an old treasure covered in earth, mud, buried and waiting to be found after a long time, or never again.
Art is like life, a mystery, or else like truth. Sometimes someone expresses himself to show something other times to hide something. Sometimes art comes out easily other times it is expresses with difficulty. And to forget unfortunate things. That often come from people who have hurt us, who have disillusioned us. Let's continue to paint, I continue to do so because in that moment, I feel really good. Sometimes it isn't easy to start over again, but when I do, I really feel fine.

Citation regarding my artwork from Luciano Gianfilippi, Japan

A very appreciated  citation regarding my artwork, received yesterday by journalist Luciano Gianfilippi, past vice director of Il Messaggero newspaper in Perugia. Gianfilippi has resided for the last many years in Japan.

Halloween

In the year 2012 I had the great possibility to fly to Oregon

 to visit my very good friend.

It was Halloween time and

my friend volonteers at the Q Center in Portland. We helped 

decorate and set up for a party there.Here is a paper cut-out

 I made to decorate a window, while people were being made up for the party.

Eurochocolate 2004 and Stephanie Seymour's DELISHOES

Important to let people know that years ago in 2004 I was the original creator of DELISHOES, a collection of shoe sculptures that looked very much like chocolate shoes.
There were many articles written about my exhibition in the papers, here are a few of them dating in 2004-2005.

Marie Claire magazine 2005. The leopard shoe with tail is my design, which then inspired other designers to place tails onto shoes. 

Vanity Fair and one of my shoes designed for Stuart Weitzman in New York. The shoes then went on to Chicago (this was a second commission from the designer, to produce chocolate-looking shoes).

Rione Cassero, Foligno 2015 - exhibition of illustrators and cartoonists

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting on the closing day, the rich and varied exhibition organized by friend, well-known cartoonist and illustrator, Moreno Chiacchiera.
